Introducing Team LRGC
I’m Dave Skinner, owner of LRGC and Host of "The
Average Outdoorsman T.V." My wife Angela and I live in
Alvaton, KY with our 2 beautiful daughters. I was
introduced to hunting and archery about 14 years ago by
Pro-Staff member Dave Wentz. Dave and I became best
friends while stationed together in the Air Force. My first
bow hunting trip was to his hometown in WV. That trip
planted a seed in me that has grown out of control. I’ve
gone from waterfowl addict, to upland bird addict, to deer
addict, to turkey addict. The problem is I haven’t
recovered from those other addictions! I’ve settled down
a bit and pretty much stick to bow hunting trophy
whitetails and chasing springtime gobblers.

Jody Burton of Rockfield, KY began hunting small game
at the age of eight. Those early days spent squirrel and
rabbit hunting sparked a life long love for the outdoors.
Jody didn't start deer hunting until his senior year in high
school but after taking his first deer (a nice buck) with a
bow he was hooked forever. Jody say’s he found his true
love of the outdoors after turkey hunting. He still loves to
deer hunt but say’s those long beards really get his blood
to pumping. Jody also enjoys fishing, riding ATVs with his
wife and shooting as much as possible. Jody and his wife
Beth recently gave birth to their first child, a little boy. I’m
certain Jody will have him decked out in camo with a box
call in his hands very soon.

Dave Wentz is a Master Sergeant in the US Air Force and
is currently stationed in Alaska with is wife and two sons.
Dave began bow hunting in the mountains of West
Virginia as a small boy and has scores of whitetail to his
credit. These days he enjoys traveling to bow hunt
whitetails, fly fishing the rivers of Alaska and was recently
drawn for his first Moose hunt in Alaska.

Mandy Webb of Russellville, KY makes up our female
staff. Mandy’s love of hunting, especially deer and turkey,
has pushed her to encourage other ladies to get involved
in the outdoors. Mandy is the Editorial Assistant for The
Woman Hunter and as an outdoor writer has had several
articles published both online and in print. Mandy says
she wants to promote hunting to other women, “There are
many people that don’t understand the importance of
hunting and are mislead to think that it is socially
unacceptable for all genders regardless of age, race, or
ability.  I believe that hunting education is the key to
preserving the sport for future generations to enjoy.”
Everyone at Lost River Game Calls agrees.

Jon Givens lives in the small community of Quality, KY
with his wife Rachel. Quality is a pretty good name for an
area with the “quality” of deer and turkey that Jon has
right out his back door.  Jon has taken numerous turkeys
with shotgun and Bow and arrow. One of the highlights of
Jon’s hunting career was harvesting a 151” nine pointer
in 2003. In the off season you will find Jon working on his
Hobby Farm where he and his step-dad run about 100
head of beef cattle. Jon also enjoys target archery and
competes in numerous tournaments in the off season.
Jody and I have been friends with Jon since before the
beginning of LRGC. Matter of fact, I believe Jon was one
of the first people to kill a turkey using one of our calls.

Bill Cartwright, of Western KY,  is a Grand Slam hunter
and owner of
Western Ky Outdoors, an outfitting service
in western KY. Bill has hunted Wild Turkeys all over the
US, and puts several hunters on trophy whitetails and big
Toms every year. Bill spends a large part of his time
traveling to the best destinations in the country to pursue
his hunting and fishing passions.

Corey Suter of Illinois has been hunting turkeys for
fourteen seasons, primarily central Illinois creek bottom
lands and open fields. In the past few years his passion
has shifted to include helping others get their turkeys,
hosting a youth each year on a fully guided hunt. In
addition to wild turkeys, he is an experienced bowhunter
with multiple pope and young whitetails to his credit, and
he enjoys waterfowl hunting with his black lab Maggie.
Corey also enjoys freelance writing and has managed to
have a few articles published including one in
Buckmaster's Magazine. He is a Father to a two year old
son, and husband to a wonderful wife.

Calvin Gainey hails from Edmonson county KY and has
been hunting Deer, turkey, and coyotes for 25 years.
Calvin became disabled in 1999 when he fell asleep
behind the wheel on his way to work. The fact that he is
bound to a wheel chair and has limited use of his hands
and arms has not slowed Calvin in the outdoors. He
admits that it’s a little harder but never misses a chance
to get out and pursue his passion.

Julio Santiago Jr. is from Central New Jersey, a Master
Barber of 26 years by trade, but a turkey hunter by heart.
Julio has to his credits, 7 Grand Slams and two World
Slams as well as several record book deer with his bow.
When he is not hunting, you can find him filming hunts or
guiding others at his
Tall Tale Acres hunting lodge in PA.

Mark Ward  was born and raised in Muhlenburg county
KY, home of some of the biggest whitetails and turkey in
the state. Mark is an accomplished competition turkey
caller, as well as a videographer. When I first met Mark, I
thought he was mainly a turkey hunter/caller, but I quickly
learned that Mark is an all around outdoors man. He
loves to chase small game such as squirrels and rabbits
as well as chase raccoons under the moonlight with his
hounds.
